”I have a great feeling that I was one of the founders and I have contributed to building such a magnificent alliance – EELISA! Engaging in EELISA opens the door to infinite challenges to change the future world.”
Three words to describe EELISA:
Challenges, passion, complementarity
How did you come to join the EELISA project?
At the end of 2018 I was asked to join the NUSTPB team for the first EELISA proposal. I was so curious, and I was very surprised to find a very ambitious and challenging project. I have believed in EELISA since the beginning!
I have been involved in WP9 – Dissemination and Sustainability, first in writing the two proposals and as WP9 leader starting from 2020.

Why do you think people should join EELISA?
EELISA not only creates a new concept of European Engineer through education and innovation in engineering, but also inspires people to become engineers, scientists and even leaders. Engaging in EELISA opens the door to infinite challenges to change the future world.
I would encourage all of you to join EELISA. Students, academics, or administrative staff can find in EELISA endless opportunities for career or personal development.
”I encourage every student to take part in as many activities as possible, as EELISA is an open portal to a better future for European engineers and, in fact, for a better and more sustainable society.”
Three words to describe EELISA:
Challenging, ambitious and dynamic
How did you come to join the EELISA project?
My time in EELISA started in April 2022 when I attended my first Student Council meeting in Pisa. Together with my other student representatives Stefan and later Ioana, we have witnessed and, more importantly, have taken part in an outstanding evolution of the Alliance and of its students. Following the meetings in Pisa, Paris, Zurich, and Istanbul we set objectives for short and long periods of time, and we will keep improving and always set higher and higher standards.
What has it brought you so far?
I can say a lot on this question, but to sum up in a few words, I can say it has brought me a wider perspective about the possibilities to turn our society into a more sustainable and innovative one. The engineering domain and its students hold an immense contribution to the development of everything that surrounds us and we see engineering in every object and in every action we take part during our day to day activities.
Why do you think people should join EELISA?
I encourage every student to take part in as many activities as possible, as EELISA is an open portal to a better future for European engineers and, in fact, for a better and more sustainable society. Keep on dreaming, keep on being innovative and never hold back from any idea that would make our future brighter. The opportunities are in our hands and we have everything we need to turn the ideas into reality.
”Although I believe that tradition and conservatism have their good sides, working in EELISA taught me to combine the legacy of the past with the needs of the future.”
Three words to describe EELISA:
Hope, future, energy.
How did you come to join the EELISA project?
I heard about EELISA before it was called EELISA! I am among the last EELISA founders who also participated in the first meeting establishing the European Universities consortium (September 2018, in Paris, at the Mines ParisTech headquarters). I participated in EELISA, both to win the consortium’s grant and to develop it in the period 2020-2023. After 5 years of working for EELISA, now I am ready to start another 4 years phase to achieve the alliance ideals.
What has it brought you so far?
After 20 years of experience in international academic and professional relations, the new team of colleagues and friends from the EELISA consortium helped me better understand what European higher education should look like in the 21st century. Although I believe that tradition and conservatism have their good sides, working in EELISA taught me to combine the legacy of the past with the needs of the future. After all, EELISA works for young generations, who are seeking to “build bridges to overcome their borders”.

”Being part of the alliance helps each one of us bring a bit of development upon our academical background, but also upon the human side of each other.”
Three words to describe EELISA:
Uprising, innovative and ambitious
How did you come to join the EELISA project?
I first heard of EELISA more than one year ago from my colleagues that took part in different activities and when the opportunity came, I did not hesitate to apply for it. The perfect occasion for me was the THINK TANK project held in Madrid at The Space Agency. The experience was a unique one for me and enlightened me about all the opportunities I have as an engineer.
What has it brought you so far?
As an aerospace engineering student, I have learned that the sky is not the limit, the only limits we have are those that we set for ourselves, and we would eventually manage to break them. During the time I took part in the EELISA activities I have learned that as an engineer I have a whole bright future ahead of me and this alliance and our university together create new and outstanding opportunities for me to become not only the engineer of my dreams, but also the person I have always desired to be.
Why do you think people should join EELISA?
I have always encouraged and will always encourage all the students to take part in the EELISA activities and we as engineers can have an enormous impact upon our society. Being part of the alliance helps each one of us bring a bit of development upon our academical background, but also upon the human side of each other. I encourage everyone to not step down from breaking the comfort zone barrier as every positive and developing act of today will be reflected in a better and a more sustainable society of tomorrow.
