International Advanced Training Program in Nuclear Photonics 2.0 / IATP-NP 2.0, 01.01.2026 – 31.12.2027
(Call: 5.9/5.9.1/ELI-RO Collaborative projects with Germany at ELI-NP)
The International Advanced Training Program in Nuclear Photonics 2.0 / IATP-NP 2.0, which runs between 01.01.2026 and 31.12.2027, has as its main objective the advanced training of PhD students and the strengthening of interdisciplinary research in the field of nuclear photonics, at the interface between ultra-intense laser physics, laser–plasma interaction, and nuclear physics. The project is implemented through a collaboration between POLITEHNICA Bucharest, IFIN-HH / ELI-NP, and Technische Universität Darmstadt, making full use of the unique research infrastructure of ELI-NP.
Expected Impact on the Scientific Community
The expected impact of the project is significant at multiple levels:
- the training of a new generation of researchers with advanced and interdisciplinary skills;
- increased international visibility of Romanian research in nuclear photonics;
- strengthened international collaborations with prestigious institutions;
- direct contributions to the development of future experiments at ELI-NP;
- the creation of a solid foundation for high-impact scientific publications and subsequent research projects.
The project activities is structured in two successive stages (01.01.2026 – 31.12.2026, 01.01.2027 – 31.12.2027) and includes:
- Project management and scientific coordination, ensuring implementation in accordance with the work plan and contractual requirements;
- Individual doctoral research program, tailored to the major thematic areas of nuclear photonics;
- Advanced training program, including Lecture Weeks, specialized courses, seminars, and summer schools;
- International research mobility and internships, at TU Darmstadt and other reference research facilities;
- Participation in international experiments, conferences, and workshops, facilitating the integration of PhD students into the international scientific community.
